How can organizations use Office 2016 together with SharePoint, so business initiatives can be successful?

“I think most important for our clients is a seamless integration of Office with SharePoint 2016 or Office 365. SharePoint 2016, Office 2016 and OneDrive integrate very seamlessly so you can work with documents online and work with documents offline; you can even take documents to your mobile device and edit them offline and sync them back to SharePoint, and this is all supported by Office 2016.”

How important is it to reduce the total behavioral change needed to get people to “do what’s right” – i.e. use SharePoint?

“New software usually requires that users learn new ways of doing things, but on the other hand, if new software requires too many changes then there will be a problem with user adoption and additional costs in terms of user training. Being a Microsoft certified trainer for several years now, I have conducted some user trainings at different companies. My experience is this: if you can show a real benefit to the users they are usually willing to adopt new ways.”

How does Office 365 play a role in the collaboration world, versus other tools like Dropbox?

“The main benefit of Office 365 is that it integrates many services. This will reduce the context switches for users and provide benefits in terms of security. In addition, companies usually want to control what documents are shared with others, especially external accounts, and how they are shared. With OneDrive for Business and Office 365, this can be achieved because these tools are providing a kind of integrated security. As far as I know you can’t have that with Dropbox.”

Could you give us an example of a unique customer solution you have recently been working on?

“The common corporate intranet as we built it in the past is slowly dying. I mean the kind of corporate intranet that directly reflects the needs of a company only. Today and in the future we will build user centric intranets that are tailored to the needs of the employees. We will build employee engaging intranets that truly create a digital workplace for employees. One of my recent projects has been the design of a corporate intranet that truly is employee engaging and user focused. It was great working with a client that shared my vision of an employee centric and employee engaging corporate intranet, and I think we will see more of that in the future, especially with SharePoint 2016.”
